Easter...

Easter means "Pascoa"  in Portuguese, and also the passage of slavery to liberty. It's the biggest party for Christians because it celebrates the passage of Jesus Christ from this world to our Father, from death to life,  from darkness to light.
It comes after Lent to culminate on Easter vigil.
Here are some significant symbols to the catholic church:
Easter Egg_ life's existence is connected to the egg, it symbolizes the birth.
Easter's bunny _ even though bunnies doesn't lay eggs it brings the eggs, and it became a symbol for it's capacity of having a lot of baby rabbits. Tradition that initiated in German decades ago.
The cross of rebirth_ it translate at the same time suffering and rebirth.
The lamb_ symbolizes Christ, which is the lamb's God sacrifice for it's horde.
The bread and wine_ at the last supper, Jesus choice was bread and wine to represent his body and blood, and gave it to his disciples to celebrate the eternity life.
In Brazil the kids make their own easter nest, so at early in the morning the bunnies can bring and ride the chocolate's eggs, so they can find it when they wake up. The nest is made of rattan, wood or cardboard and filled with  ripped paper in pieces or straw.
Besides, it's a tradition to parents to buy the Easter eggs, it became a huge commercial on the Easter time in Brazil, consequently it's a really good time for the chocolate factory to make a fortune, because everybody wants to give it to their children, nieces or nephews and it's not so cheap we buy it by it's size as the size of the egg increase it becomes more and more expensive. In particular my parents never had money to buy eggs when I was a child, but we used to go to church to celebrate, when our financial situation got a little bit better we could buy one big egg and share it between our family members. Now that things are better and I try to give the eggs to the closest children of our family.

The Middle East Turmoil

What I think is that when there is power, such as, oil  found all over the place with political and religious self interests involved, it will always lead to turmoil, and I am glad that it was a peaceful revolution. I feel  supportive and hopeful that it is the beginning of a new time. In fact, the young protesters took the streets of Egypt demanding they oust the President Hosni Mubarak giving up his office, pledged not to run again, also he has appointed a vice-president Omar Suleiman, and finished the dictator regime in Egypt after three decades of rule. Thirsty for freedom, justice, and clashes between christians and muslims in the name of God are the philosophy of this turmoil.

Weather Got you down?

The present study examines the effects of weather on daily mood. The studies says that it can be positive and negative, also that it can cause tiredness. Data was gathered from an online diary, linked to weather station data, and analyzed by means of multilevel analysis. The results revealed  main effects of temperature, wind power, and sunlight on negative effects. Sunlight had a main effect on tiredness and mediated the effects of precipitation and air pressure on tiredness. In terms of explained variance, however, the average effect of weather on mood was small. Weather does appear to impact our moods, and that effect may become serious, there is no further evidence of this than the real condition called SAD Seasonal Affective Disorder is characterized by feelings of sadness and depression that occur in the winter months when the temperatures drop and the days grow short. So what Denissen's study really shows is that more research is needed to better determine the strength of the link, and whether it affects people in different geographical regions. Nearly 40 years of research suggests there's a strong link and on that, in some people, can lead to significant seasonal problems.

Who do I admire?

The person that I admire in my life is my mother, a woman who is extremely strong and who has given to me the support and love that I need to go through in a long journey of my life. She is the one that is always there if I need her, we have been always more than a mother and daughter, we are real good friends. My mom had me when she was seventeen, and today is her 37th anniversary. Although, I admire her I would never see me living the same life that she had, she got married when she was seventeen and I believe that when she was my age 36 years old she already had four children, she took care of us at home until I were 12 years old and than she started working at a health care facility, so she could help my dad financially at home. She went through a lot of difficulties, but always believing that better days would come, consequently my brothers started to work also when they were fourteen years old so they could help at home at least with a little thing like paying for the PGE. When we were young she always divided the house chores such as cleaning the stove or dishes or even cooking. According, to her it would make us become a good householder in case she wasn't there to do things for ourselves and if we didn't have the money to pay people to clean. She always helped us doing our homework, I remember that we had to memorize the math tables in our bedroom and we shouldn't leave there until we knew it. Consequently, I believe that she reached her goal which was to make us honest people knowing that if we wanted to be successful we had to study and work as hard as we could and she always should say "honor your color."

Tiger

Tiger is the chinese zodiac sign that I was born with, and it says that it symbolizes such character traits as bravery, competitiveness, and unpredictability. Also, tigers love to be challenged and will accept any challenge if it means protecting a loved one. In addition, they say that we are stubborn if we realize we are not in charge of something, consequently we have a slight tendency to be selfish, but after all we are extremely generous. Although, I agree with 90% of what I read I don't think that when they say "Don't let their calm appearance fool you though," I don't think that I am a calm person, I have a lot of energy and I am most of the time loud and I am trying to develop a more balanced approach to life, so I can utilize my energy more efficiently. I am brave and I think that competitiveness is part of a woman's life, and yes most Brazilian's are unpredictable people since we do most of what we feel like; for example: we don't make plans for the future we live now, like if we want to go to dance, or a movie theater, or even have lunch with a friend we just called to ask if that friend is available. But in the USA we always make plans and we try to make it work on time. Protecting who I love is in my nature since I am an older sister of three other siblings. I would die for my family. In conclusion, most of the time I trust on my instincts to continue watching myself to become a better person.

What an amazing College!!

Canada College is an amazing college which I just finished an interior design program last year. And now I am taking ESL classes and seeking to take the Kitchen and Bath Design Program as an AA Degree Certificate. The learning process is awesome; moreover, the library is very organized and the lighting there is well planned especially with the natural and artificial lighting, also the learning center will make you feel so welcome there. While you are at the learning center you can use the computers to access the internet to do research, take advantage of the tutoring, and do home work. In addition, if you ever get tired of all that studying you can enjoy the beautiful seating at the armchairs facing the outside - it's wonderful.
